Hi! My name is Greg, I'm a long time digital nomad and traveller from France. I may already be 45, I like to think that I'm still quite young at heart. Even though I can get passionate about the many things I love in this world, overall I'm a fairly quiet guy, and quite even-tempered. I don't smoke, I don't drink, and I like when it's quiet (except when I'm listening to metal or salsa of course, particularly live!). I'm a "flexitarian", meaning that I favor vegetarian food whenever possible, but will occasionnaly eat fish and seafood (but I stopped eating meat 25 years ago).

I hope this community will help me meet some friendly, well-informed locals, and people I can have a good laugh with. I wouldn't go as far as saying that I'm a chatterbox, but I certainly enjoy chatting with people (around a cup of tea for example!). I hope I can meet like-minded people as well as locals or expats who can teach me something about their country/host country or their life experiences. Basically I see Couchsurfing as an opportunity to share.

Although not a musician myself, I am a huge fan of music, and my tastes are extremely varied, ranging from 1950's-1960's Jazz to various forms of Metal (including fairly extreme ones), or 1970s Jamaican 'roots' Reggae and old-school Dub, Afro-beat, Salsa and afro-cuban music (including Latin Jazz), 1970s psychedelic Rock, Blues. Music certainly is a big part of my life. Regarding books, even though I prefer non-fiction, I'm a big fan of Orwell's, Victor Hugo's, Emile Zola's, Michel Houellebecq's books to name just a few.

I rode the infamous iron-ore train in northern Mauritania one long, miserable night in January, nearly dying of cold in the process. I don't know if that qualifies as "amazing", but I certainly won't forget it any time soon!
