About Me

I live with two friendly dogs and my brother lives in the extra bedroom.

I believe in people pulling together to make the community that they desire. I am in the process of turning my property into a food jungle with the long term goal of making the entire house self sufficient. The long term goal is to produce more food than I can eat and find an efficient way to give that food out to those that need it.

I'm open to talking to anyone and enjoy a nice laid back atmosphere. Small social settings are much more my speed than going out clubbing or things along those lines.

I'm happy to share my home and whatever measly scraps are in my fridge with anyone who comes by. Just please be nice to my dogs.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I believe that community is made up of people trying to do right by each other. I have road tripped across the US, made trips to Colombia and traveled to different US cities all while being able to stop and stay at the homes of old friends, new acquaintances and the homes of family. I have always found those options to be both more fun and fulfilling in comparison to staying at hotel without anyone who knows the area.

While I am not currently doing much travel I've been there and appreciated what was offered to me. At this point in my life I have the ability to offer that same experience to others. So I am.

Meeting new people and sharing past experiences while gaining new experiences and perspectives from those I meet.

Interests

I've been canoeing and camping since I was a toddler and still like to do both. Outdoor hikes through some of the national parks in the area are also really nice depending on the weather.

Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for 9 years, learning how to skateboard, outings with my dogs, DnD.

Music, Movies, and Books

The Outsiders, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Third Rock from the Sun, In Bruges. Whatever terrible new(old) Nicholas Cage movie Netflix is currently trying to push on me.

Punk, rockabilly, bluegrass and old blues and country music

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

A one week hike through the Colombian jungle to see Ciudad Perdida, or Teyuna, an ancient indigenous city near the top of the Sierra Nevada mountains.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have some skills as a mechanic, carpenter.

I've been learning Spanish for a few years and at this point I have a pretty good grasp of the language. I still want to learn more and would love to learn other languages and anything I can about other cultures.

Would love to learn weird skills like canning foods, crocheting, farrier skills. Literally anything related to working with my hands.
