Overview
About Me
Lover of travel, music, food, drink, new experiences, and new people. Musician by trade, bartender by default. I'm happiest when I'm on the road and seeing new things. I usually travel to places I know someone, not out of convenience but so I get a taste of the local flavor. I'm usually trying to get off the beaten path.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Currently traveling for three months throughout Europe so I'm on a bit of a budget, but mostly because it's a great way to meet likeminded people and get a good insight to local spots and traditions.
Interests
Music of all kinds. I'm a performing flamenco guitarist, aa well as an oud player and stand-up bassist for bluegrass bands and singer-songwriters. I enjoy listening to anything from Middle-Eastern music to west African, Balkan, Eastern European gypsy music, jazz manouche, country, rock, blues, jazz, etc. I enjoy a good bourbon or scotch and can't turn down a delicious glass of wine. I will travel somewhere just for the food. I'm a big fan of cooking, but usually only if I'm entertaining someone else.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music interests are above ^^^. I prefer mostly independent films, as well as French and Spanish films. Usually comedy or social issue/political dramas. Usually read books about politics/history/music/philosophy, but for fiction a good Tom Robbins novel does me right.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Rafting down the Grand Canyon in Arizona for a week is definitely near the top of my list.
