Overview
About Me
Middle aged academic (rare books) librarian by day...middle-aged regular person by night. I've lived in Auburn AL for most of my life at this point. I love traveling and I've loved hosting bicycle adventurers through WarmShowers. Always an interesting story or two to share.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Why couchsurfing? I like being frugal and I generally like frugal people. Also, while I love to travel, I find hotels rather boring and lonely-making. Meeting interesting people who are unafraid of hosting a stranger (or being a stranger in someone's home) tends to be enlightening and memorable. A plain old hotel or motel...quite the opposite! I am a cyclist and have been a part of the WarmShowers cycle hosting community for years. This seems similar. I'd love to host and earn some good cred/karma for when I strike out into the couchsurfing world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ride RAGBRAI nearly every year; 400-500 miles of bicycle-related camaraderie over a week of rolling Iowa landscape. Most recently I rode the White Rim Trail in Utah.
Teach, Learn, Share
I have spare bikes that I'm willing to loan out while you're in town.
If you want to learn a new board game, I'm down to teach one.
If you like kayaking or outdoorsy stuff, I have good recommendations.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Hmm...Board games and card games? I'd certainly feel inclined to share some beer if my hosts are into that sort of thing.
