About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I will cast off the lines and sail wherever the wind blows. I have the boat and the skills to do it.

ABOUT ME

I'm working on this. But feel free to ask. Also having trouble uploading photos.

PHILOSOPHY

Karma is a bitch.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I read on this site that a group of CS'ers were getting together for Baltimore Pride and needed a truck for a tailgate party. Well, I have a truck, was going to pride anyway and wanted to learn more about the Group. So, I contacted the organizer. Before I knew it, there were about 20 people on and around the truck. Nice energetic crowd. I'll post photos soon.

Interests

Sailing. I go sailing every chance I get. I teach it. I deliver boats. I study it's history. I own a sailboat. Two in fact.
I also draw and sketch a lot. I rarely take a camera when I travel. My travel sketches are somehow more real than pictures, especially 10, 20 years down the road.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like architecture. The good, the bad and the very ugly.

I like A.M. Homes' darker novels.

Movies: Most things indie, subtitles. Gay-themed, but not a pre-requisite

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Absolute silence. I didn't realize this, but there is always noise, however minute. I was on a boat, far from land, no wind or waves, no fish or bird. Just me, the ocean and a million stars.

Getting lost in a small fishing village in Japan and being taken in by an elderly couple.

Making out (well more than making out) at the tip of Île de la Cité with a French boy from a "good" family.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to sail.
Would like to learn how to scuba.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Complete knowledge about Washington, DC. I was a tour guide for many years in DC.

Stories of my sailing adventures:Getting so close to whales that I could smell them. Bio-luminescence so bright you could not tell the difference from the stars. Escaping pirates. 30 foot waves.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, Iceland, Saint Martin (French part), Spain

Countries I’ve Lived In

France, Italy, Japan, Trinidad and Tobago
