About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get settled but to also explore

ABOUT ME

My friends have said and would say that I am the nicest person they know. I always have a kind word to say and smile on my face. Going the extra mile to help when I can. Trustworthy and honest. Sometimes a little quiet. A better listener than a talker.

PHILOSOPHY

Get along, be nice, play fair, bend the rules when necessary, sometimes it's ok to beg forgiveness than ask permission, passion is a good thing, live by God's commandments. Coffee. Lots of coffee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

None yet. Can't wait to fill this in.

Interests

I love good art (abstract to impressionism to photography) and architecture (incl. furniture design, interior design). I love cycling and outdoor activities, running, hiking, kayaking, swimming, beach, mountains. I have a passion for a good cup of coffee any time day or night. I'm in search of perfect pint and the quintessential vintage. A simple life is the goal (we all have too much stuff.) Getting down to the essentials and good camera to record life's fleeting moments. Doing anything is always worth doing well.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music: I have a pretty diverse catalog of music. Metal to Alternative. 80's to Jazz. Classical to Crooners. Standouts right now...Beck, The National, Foo Fighters.

Books: I am a collector of books. Classics to Self-help..(lots of self-help...eesh)
Favorites: Bonfire of the Vanities, Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance, Rise and Fall of the Great Powers, Alexander Hamilton by Ron Chernow, American Brutus, The NIV Bible.

Movies: I am a great lover of movies but not a great critic. I can suspend belief and just enjoy a good film. Old movies, new, sci-fi, foreign subtitled just about anything but horror.
Favorites include:
Casablanca "this could be the beginning of a beautiful friendship",
Lawrence of Arabia "The trick, William Potter, is not minding that it hurts",
The Hunt for Red October "one ping only",
2001 Space Odyssey "I'm afraid, Dave"
The Master, "But above all, I am a man, a hopelessly inquisitive man, just like you."

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Sailing in the Chesapeake and jumping off the back to be pulled along by a westerly breeze surrounded by all that water in virtual silence.

Teach, Learn, Share

For a person that has never left US soil I have a very keen understanding of the world, it's cultures, history and geography. Still love learning new things.
