ABOUT ME

I grew up in a very small town in the middle of nowhere. My first trip outside of the USA was my senior year in college. Since then, I've spent several years on the other side of the planet, and I frequently daydream about where I'm going next. The adventure continues!

I enjoy traveling around and experiencing other cultures. It's always interesting to see another person's perspective and learn about his/her experiences.

I've lived in Japan for 32 months, and I was in Diego Garcia for one year. DG was in the news because of conspiracies surrounding the Malaysian Airlines flight 370. Rest assured, they didn't land there.

I now live in Alexandria, VA with my wife Vera. We met in Australia, but she's originally from South Africa.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on CS to meet outgoing, interesting people. I started using CS a few years ago to meet people through events. Then in Australia I began hosting and everyone I've met has been fantastic. Unfortunately my work schedule hasn't been conducive to hosting, so I've taken some time off. In the somewhat near future, my wife and I plan on taking a sabbatical to catch up with friends/family and travel the world at a slow pace. During this trip we'd like to utilize couch surfing to meet people and better understand the places we visit.
