About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To practise languages and to help others with theirs.

ABOUT ME

Hi there!
Well my friends would probably say I'm a nice guy, some may say that I think too deeply about things, but I think that this makes it all more interesting. I do like to have a laugh at times but other times I like to discuss the world and the people in it.

PHILOSOPHY

...to fulfil my potential? To do something i can be proud of in this world.

Interests

I have a wide range of interests, from the natural world to science and history and music. One of my most favourite things is languages: studying them, speaking and listening to people in them and thinking differently through them.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to live in Spain after I finished university to learn Spanish, I ended up getting a job in a restaurant and really feeling the culture and what it was like to be from Valencia, I basically only spoke Spanish for all this time. - I ended up staying in Valencia for almost 3 years and this was a very formative experience on who I am today.

I designed and guided a tour of the trees of Valencia. This was a touristic tour of the parks of Valencia, I wanted to take advantage of the great diversity of trees that are there: nearly all of the major tree families are represented and some of the trees can really take your breath away. The tour also incorporated a history of the evolution of trees through from the prehistoric Cicas and Gingkos through the Magnolias, Eucalyptuses, Pines, Date Palms, Figs and many more.

A friend and I cycled all through Normandy camping as we went, sometimes in campsites, sometimes on the back of beyond, it was a great adventure, connecting us back to the nature around us and life in the wild (sort of).

I am currently developing a new and innovative course for teaching Spanish, this is incorporating all the methods I picked up learning Spanish and since then whilst working on improving my other languages. I am continually honing and improving this method with my Spanish students and hope to have it close to a publishable state in the new year.

About 6 months ago I switched over to Dvorak, I don't regret it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can speak English and Spanish, I think that I have a reasonably good idea about what's going on with people. I like to think I know how to feel freely and live - with spontanaeity and feeling and trained self-discipline.
