Hi, I am Gregor from Germany.

After traveling though whole Russia I am exploring Japan, mostly by walking and sleeping in a tent. Since I have a visa until next January I am going to stay in Japan as long as possible.

My biggest passions are climbing, ski touring and mountain biking. I also love hanging out with friends, drink coffee, go to movies or have game nights. I come from a 6-headed family so that I feel more comfortable among people then being alone. The 4 people I lived together during my studies became my second family. We went to festivals, made trips or just cook at home.

I am open to all cultures and are totally into finding the differences and similarities.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

To get in touch with locals and experience a place from their point of view is my biggest motivation to visit a city. Usually I try to avoid crowded touristy areas and find my joy in more authentic places to feel the foreign culture.
Also I rather sleep in my tent or on my sleeping matt on someone’s floor than staying in a fancy hotel. It is just so much more exciting.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to listen to everything from classical music through techno to rap. One of my favorite bands is SEEED from Berlin.
It is a bit the same with films but the ones I could watch over and over again are Tarantino-movies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my greatest experience was to swim in a hot spring in Iceland during winter, just only with some friends in the mountains.

I love to cook together or to cook for people. If you like to try, we can make some German dishes :D I want to learn how to cook Japanese dishes.
I can teach you German.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I love hang out, play games or to explore the surrounding city or nature. I can be your climbing or hiking buddy.
