Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been cooped up in the same 20 mile radius my entire life, save a few school trips or family vacations. I recently paid off my car and all debts, and left two jobs to see the country for a bit. Started in Minnesota and will be working my way down to Cali by May.

Interests

I love Learning! I'm a damn information sponge. I also enjoy cooking, at work or otherwise. Talking to and meeting new people is always fun and slightly scary for me. I like playing soccer, but I'm not so athletic nowadays. I do enjoy marijuana and other drugs, but that need not worry you if you're not into that; I respect you. Karaoke, bowling, mini-golf, and video games would probably round out this list pretty nicely.

Music, Movies, and Books

Top favorite bands include: Pink Floyd, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Smashing Pumpkins, and I used to be pretty heavy into Nirvana, but I suppose I was biased toward the grunge scene's awesomeness. The music is ok, but I still love 'em. Anything else is all good unless it's Country, shitty rap, or half of today's "Hits."

Top favorite movies: MIB, Robin of Locksley, Gladiator, the Patriot, Braveheart
So, you know the main characters in those movies? I automatically love all their other movies. Comedy and Action tend to be my favorite, but I really love a clever twist from a smart thriller or heist movie (think Ocean's 11, Lucky Number Sleven). Alien movies (in general) are cool too.

Top Books: Atlas Shrugged, Deep Survival, Diadem Series (blast from the past, that) I've read all of Dan Brown's books, 1-6 of the Harry Potters (nothing against them at all, just never got to the last one). I tend to prefer non-fiction. They have more valuable information to be gleaned.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I'm not sure your definition of amazing, and this barely fits mine, but the decision to stop beating my brother forever changed both of our lives. I'm not entirely proud of the things I've done, but I will never forget the exact moment when I decided to be a good person, and comfort people through their tough times, instead of abuse others through mine.
