About Me

I'm in the Army. I definitely have the blood of a traveler; my wanderlust calls frequently. I wish I knew about this when I was travelling this summer through the American West on my motorcycle. I work with a charity organization and like to fund-raise for them, but am always looking for volunteer opportunities in the area. I don't drink and used to be vegan, so if you end up on my couch let me know if you have special requests for food or drinks. I don't mind accommodating.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

When I was traveling, I spent a lot of money on campgrounds and hotel rooms. It felt like such a waste and I want to save you from the financial pain I went through. Plus, hearing a traveler's story is fantastic.
When I start traveling again, I want to meet people in different cities and see the great places in those cities.

Music, Movies, and Books

I have been really into Nathaniel Ratliff lately. I enjoy that new soul sound. I also like acoustic stuff, reggae, country, 80s thrash, punkrock, hardcore, hip hop. Really, I can listen to just about anything.

I enjoy reading quite a bit. Anything from history to the classics to sci fi. Ayn Rand is one of my favorite authors. I've been into Jack Kerouac and other beat writers recently.

Movies aren't high on my list of things to do but if it has to do with Star Wars or comic books, I'm in.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I fundraised for the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America while I was deployed for the second time and organized a charity ride for them. In return, they helped coordinate a sponsorship through Victory Motorcycles who gave a friend and myself each a motorcycle to use for the journey. We went in excess of 5700 miles, through 13 states and raised almost $4000 throughout the whole experience. It was phenomenal. I am starting to plan round two entitled Eastern Ride for Veterans
