I'm living and working as a Science Teacher in Hanoi, Vietnam. After university, I wanted to spend some time living outside the US to learn about the world and myself. Hanoi is my home base for now, and I've enjoyed traveling around Southeast Asia since I arrived in April, 2019.

Usually, I'm a pretty quiet guy, but I also love learning about new people, places, cultures, and food. So if you're willing to share, I'm all ears! I recharge by spending some quiet time by myself each day, either reading, running or going for a walk. Connecting with people who are willing to share their story and their life with me is why I love to travel.

I'm not a huge partier, but can usually be talked into anything. I usually prefer grabbing a pint of local beer and a bite to eat over a club. Though I've been known to do karaoke or embarrass myself on the dance floor after a few too many. I'm really into music, and finding local artists playing in town. My number one thing to do is find local eats wherever I am! I absolutely love trying new foods, restaurants, food trucks, and carts.

I've traveled a bit in the US, but the travel bug is still a pretty new thing for me. I've spent time in Mexico as well.

Interests

My favorite thing to do in a new place is to take a walk with my camera. I love seeing how day-to-day life is similar yet so different around the world.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The two most difficult things I've done have been a 2000 mile bike tour through the American Southwest, and walking the Camino de Santiago alone in Spain.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I'm always excited to share stories over a meal or drink. I'm pretty handy and I'm a decent cook as well! I enjoy talking and teaching about photography as well.
