Overview
About Me
Hello there, My name is Greg and I am originally from the Philippines, however, I was born and raised in London, UK. Right now, I am travelling around the world exploring places I've never seen. Back in London I work as a Project Manager for a building consultancy. As I have been working in the industry for a while, I have decided to take a grown-up 'Gap Year' to travel, meet new people, learn completely new things, laugh, dance, immerse myself in new cultures, sample the delightful street food around the world and above all learn about myself.
I would say I'm pretty easy-going, positive, warm and down to earth. As a guest, I am very tidy, helpful around the house and respectful for other peoples property.
Things that I like:
- Snorkeling in amazing beaches with clear calm water (Philippines and Greece have been my favourite to date)
- My comfort food - anything breaded and fried. Think Katsu curry over rice or a chicken burger with fries
- Family get-togethers and playing games
- Being silly with my niece and nephews
- Running, playing basketball, football and ultimate frisbee
- Waking up before the sun (when I'm not lazy)
- Coconuts!
Things I dislike:
- Smoking
- Sharks and Jelly Fish
- Bones in fish
- Traffic (vehicle and human)
- Pretentious people
My Philosophy:
Enjoy the little things in life, one day you may realise they were the big things!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
In my mind, I think life ultimately is about your relationships and experiences with other people. Whether that be with your immediate family, your friends or strangers. Therefore Couchsurfing helps me meet interesting people, form new relationships and create new experiences. I consider myself a bit of an introvert so interacting with people helps me build my confidence. By sharing a house with someone you get to know them way more quickly than meeting them in a public setting. I also want to help people even if it is just small gestures.
Interests
I am currently travelling to countries with great food, beaches and good wifi. Once I'm settled I like to be active, so things like running, playing sports (like football, basketball, ultimate frisbee, tennis), swimming and snorkelling.
I also like to host bbq's and I love to cook for my friends (more comfort food dishes than fine dining).
In my downtime, I like to meditate, listen to podcasts, chill out music or watch a good action movie.
To let my hair down I like to have an easy drink with friends in nice open settings and boogying on the dance floor.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I was recently a volunteer English teacher for a group of local kids in Malaysia. In the beginning, the younger kids were very shy and timid and the older teens didn't really have any great ambitions. On our last day, we got them all to do presentations about themselves. The younger kids all came out of their shells and the older kids now had these grand ambitions to travel outside of the country, do bigger things and they were interested in learning more English. Our goal was to give them confidence which it seemed like they got, even if it was just a small amount, I think we done our job!
Teach, Learn, Share
I can teach English, Football/Basketball and basic computer-aided design.
I'd love to learn about entrepreneurship.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I love to cook simple dishes for people. Maybe we can barbecue or make a pizza!
I'm happy to help around the house or entertain little ones (if any).
