ABOUT ME

I love meeting people and finding out how others see the world, especially through humor. What is funny and why?
I love the theatre, all kinds of music, poetry, dancing like a crazy person and taking part in any kind of creation. I seem very chaotic but I feel organized. I have a very detailed plan, with huge gaps every now and then for random adventures.
I Smoke, and love a beer/drink every now and then.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I want to be able to visit a place and see it with the eyes of an eccentric local. I also want to be able to show visitors of my own how I see my community and how to enjoy it the best they can for however long they intend to stay.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I once met a female couchsurfer from Sweden, she was visiting a friend of mine and we took her to a concert downtown, showed her how people in Akureyri enjoy themselves on fridaynights. Then we gave her tips for great places to see the days after in the north of Iceland, and she kept in touch with us for advice for the rest of her journey. It was great to have met her.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I made a love museum in a public bus with a theatre/street art group. It was part of a great festivel in my hometown. We collected memories on tape, took pictures of newlyweds and happy couples, interviewed elderly couples and asked children for definitions of love. We put a big tree inside the bus and layed grass on the floors, decorated it and then we drove it around for an evening, stopped on the square and then a brass band and a singer went on top of it and sang "all you need is love" ... It was remarkable. Especially to see how everyone could relate to some part of the show.
