About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To climb rocks travel, guide, live the dream and open my mind to new things

ABOUT ME

I am a climber and skier. I am currently trying to expand my "Horizontal" world. I can get a little to focused on climbing and forget about what is happening on the ground.
It's easy to try to escape. I really believe in the couch surfing idea. The world is often smaller than we think. Making connections with other open minded people is a great thing. I live with my wife and child. We live half the year in California and half the year in Mexico.

PHILOSOPHY

Livin the Dream. That is my latest catch phrase. It keeps me inspired to pursue my guiding/climbing goals when I wake up in my frozen truck.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am psyched to try the couch surfing thing out. I haven't really used the internet to interact with people much, but I am always traveling so it makes sense to meet new people in new areas this way.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have slept on many a couch, and everytime I have a house I try to build my couch surfing karma. Last winter in Crested Butte, I had a portaledge up in our rafters. My climber/writer friend luke lived in it for a while.
He has recently had a couch surfing article published in the Crested Butte Magazine.

Interests

I am interested mostly in climbing and backcountry skiing. I also love music but don't usually have enough time or money to get to see it performed.

Music, Movies, and Books

The rock warrior's way, which has helped me look at my motivations for climbing.
Any Thich Naht Hahn book I can get my hands on.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I recently reached a huge goal of mine, climbing the Nose of El Cap in one day. I need to put that behind me and reach for other challenges now.
