Quitting my corporate job and reigniting the adventurer spirit!
I'm a catacomb-sized Third Culture Kid, born in Sofia, Bulgaria, grew up in New York City, went to college in Los Angeles, spent a year in Paris, and two years in Madison, Wisonsin!
Currently back in New York City for a few months.
I'm a self-timer photographer... Traveling solo has perfected this skill!I like (to make) art. However, you probably won't catch me at a museum unless it's a rainy day.And last but perhaps most importantly, I'm a bit of an adrenaline junkie :)
I went to middle school in East Harlem where I saw:
Become your dream.
- James De La Vega
scribbled in chalk all over sidewalks, walls, even trash bags. Its simplicity really left an impression on me then, and has stuck with me ever since!
I'm also a firm believer in karma, and I try to live my life accordingly.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I've been incredibly lucky in surfing some of the best couches in the world! While I may not have the ideal conditions for hosting right now, I am always excited about meeting people and showing them around wherever I am: New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Madison!
Absolutely amazing so far!
open spaces, abandoned buildings, self-timer photography, urban design, lights, energy fields, economics, unusual musical instruments, engineering, healthcare IT, computer science (trying to teach myself!), yoga, juicing, goat cheese, beekeeping, real estate..
- adventure races
- computer science
Music, Movies, and Books
I have very eclectic tastes in music, including (but not limited to): Galantis, ODESZA, the Weeknd, Broods, Phantogram, Darius, Sebastien Tellier, Matt & Kim, DJ Tiesto, The Strokes, Kygo, CocoRosie, Kavinsky, the Naked and Famous, Modest Mouse, Fitz and the Tantrums, Manu Chao, Aventura, bagpipe music and a lot more. I've discovered some of these amazing musicians through the CS community and I'm always expanding this list!
I'm not much of a movie person... I guess I liked Catch Me If You Can, Paranoid Park, and a few others. But you will almost never find me watching a movie... or TV for that matter. The Catcher in the Rye, Atlas Shrugged, Le Petit Prince, 1984, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, Je voudrais que quelqu'un m'attende quelque part, The Importance of Being Earnest...

Teach, Learn, Share
I'm very interested in learning about how other people live. There are things we all take for granted that can be incredibly eye-opening to others, and I enjoy discovering these things. I want to share yoga experiences, delicious meals, and adrenaline!
Currently, I want to learn more about engineering! (very different from my humanities major in college haha.)
