About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Peacefully laughing and brawling

ABOUT ME

I've always had diverse interests and try something new every few years.

Job-wise, I've spent lots of time at both tech stuff, like programming and computer administration... and social stuff like Social Work and High Ropes Course facilitation. I've volunteered in so many things that interest me... I've worked on farms, done trail maintenance in the jungle, helped build houses and coat racks and make sourdough bread in a wood-fired oven.

I like reading, hiking, playing soccer, and meeting new people. At times in the past I've had other hobbies, like Tai-Chi, urban exploring, playing guitar. I get my most adventuresome on trips. If I'm going to regret not having done something when I get home, I do it! So I've been hang gliding, scuba diving, sloshing through the everglades, dogsledding, caving, climbing, and finding the way across a map where the roads don't quite meet.

PHILOSOPHY

You only really know by trying it out!

Music, Movies, and Books

I've enjoyed making hugely varietous mix CD's lately over just buying albums. My favorite music is when someone really sounds into what they're singing, be it fun or whistful. A few albums I like:

Nickel Creek: Nickel Creek
Stevie Ray Vaughn: The Sky Is Crying
Po' Girl: Po' Girl
Eddie From Ohio
Hot Club of Cowtown
John Mayer: The Village Sessions
Norah Jones
Pink Floyd

I mostly read fiction. Recently I've read books by Neil Gaiman, Paulo Coehlo, Nick Hornby, and JK Rowling.

Movies... see "The Fisher King". It's old but good. I like action movies that still have a bit of intelligence to them. Cowboy Bebop is good if you like Anime.
