About Me

Hi!
I'm Gui - a Portuguese guy currently cycling through europe. Mid 30s, easy-going and fond of bread (especially when it's overcooked).
I like to get to know people - to listen and respond in kind and truthfully - to help, even if only a little bit.
I also like the simple things and the beautiful things, even if it sometimes means taking the longer route.
When the weather permits, I like to go on long walks, to visit the churches and drink a little coffee.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've worked with computers most of my adult life, and decided to take a break and go on a journey with no clear timeline.
I'm mostly looking to meet people - to meaningfully connect and share quality time with. Maybe we can learn something from eachother, bounce ideas around, suggest a film or an alternative - a mutually beneficial exchange of time :)

The end narrative of this voyage will be, hopefully, one of human beings rather than landscapes.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love Moondog - Bird's Lament might be his most famous piece, though he really is a treasure trove. Quite interesting music and life he had, I find.
La Double Vie de Véronique might be my favorite movie. It's so sweet and magical
For books, I really like Saramago's way of writing. I also enjoyed imensely The Unbearable Lightness of Being, by Kundera.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I fixed my father's Renault 4L - not very impressive, but it was probably the most amazing thing I've done recently.

Teach, Learn, Share

I've worked with computers most of my adult life, so maybe I can help with somethings IT-related.
I enjoy manual work, of all kinds - woodcrafts, cooking, sewing, mechanics, mosaics, etc etc - and would be keen on learning and/or helping out with anything at all!
While not being sure I can really teach something of value - because I know but a bit of many things :) - I am conscienscious, so at least I can give you the assurance that whatever it is, I'll do my very best.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Anything I know and/or have, basically. Might not be much, but maybe it'll be enough. Cooking/food prep, helping out with small or big jobs in and around the house, an eager ear, or simply being present
