About Me
CURRENT MISSION
I want to travel to different countries to learn new languages and their culture.
ABOUT ME
My name is Guillermo, I grew up in Murcia, in Southern Spain. I studied History at university. After getting my Masters Degree I spent a year and a half travelling around Europe and then started working as a teacher in a high level Secondary school in Spain. A couple of months ago, though, I resigned and now I want to resume travelling, with an important focus on new languages, people and their culture.
PHILOSOPHY
My motto in life is "I'm learning to live"
(and yes, I took it from the Dream Theater song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VigPPJ6j40 )
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I would like to meet local people wherever I go, so I can integrate and get to know every place with different points of view. After I finish traveling I will be glad to offer others to crash my couch.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I've only tried it once, but I hear many good things about it all the time, so I can't wait to have more experience with it.
Interests
I like reading. I try to spend as much time as possible reading. Before I read mostly novels, right now I am more into academic essays.
I like writing. I keep a diary and have some ideas for books I would like to fully develop sometime in the future.
I like juggling. I also do some other "real sports" like tennis or biking, but juggling is my thing. It's basically the coolest thing ever.
I like languages. So far I don't speak as many as I would like, but I can spend more time thinking and talking about it than most people would find reasonable :D
I like nature. Alone or with some more people. I have recently read Masanobu Fukuoka's works and so I am getting very interested in permaculture.
I like music. I play a bit of piano and guitar, but I always do it for myself, so don't ask me to play something in public because I will probably feel very embarrassed :D
There are more things that I like, but I don't want to sound pretentious, so this should be enough I think :D

Music, Movies, and Books
I don't really watch films, but when I do I like comedy. I like to discover films from countries that are not the US.
Concerning music, I wouldn't even know where to start... My main music style is metal, but I also like some rap, folk, instrumental. I simply love to find songs in languages other than English. It is not that I dislike English, but I like variety, so if you want to show me songs in your language I will be very happy about it.
About books: As I said before, I am now into essays, and it can be about many things. Right now I am reading a lot about nutrition and rethoric (the art of speaking and writing well).
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I crossed all Europe by hitchhiking and met many amazing people on the way. May times. I also crossed Spain from north to south on foot (during the winter).
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm always fond of learning new things, increasing my knowledge and my range of interests. I'm willing to share my skills with others as long as I'm acquired to do so.
But I guess that's what everyone says anyway. I can teach, learn and share whatever is required depending on the circumstances and my own skills.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I don't really know what I have to say here. As before, it will depend on the context and what I have to share.
Countries I’ve Lived In
France, Spain
