About Me

To get along at my new life in Sweden :D

After living one year in Paris, one year in a city in the middle of nowhere called Bauru, and the rest of my life between Campinas (State of São Paulo, Brazil) and São Paulo city, I'm moving to Sweden to start a new life. Interested in books, music, cinema, comic books, cooking. I like tea, candies, winter sunny days, to walk in beautiful cities, weird adorable things, visiting hidden magic places, cook delicious dishes, find out new bands, teach languages. Love to smile. I'm vegan and I help a lot of street pets in Brazil.

I worked in more than 10 different things, including for an evil capitalistic enterprise (worst part of my life, I wouldn't repeat that). My last work was as a French teacher on the suburbs of São Paulo, in a social project. It's great and I love it! I also worked as a teacher, as a hostess, as a translator, screen writing, ghostwriter, English teacher, Portuguese teacher....

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I lived in Paris for one year in the neighborhood of Belleville. Over there, I hosted couchsurfing people whenever was possible. It was a great experience! I've got to meet a lot of very cool and nice people and it was the best chance to get in contact with real culture.

I've travelled a bit in Europe while I was at my exchange and I stayed at some couchsurfings, and it was a nice way to get along to the places, and really feel like the cities were for real.

Eat sleep repeat.

Kiding, rs. I think I had already explained enough about my tastes. But do not hesitate to ask me questions!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music - http://www.lastfm.com.br/user/guimaraesamanda.

Movies - that's difficult. I will list some of my favorite directors: Polanski, David Lynch, Herzog, Lelouch, Eric Rohmer, Sofia Coppola, Wes Anderson, the Coen brothers.

Books: poetry, literary journalism, gothic-romantic, graphic novels (Sartrapi, Joe Sacco, Spielgman, etc), Françoise Sagan, Beckett, Camus, Faulkner.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

*To go to Rio de Janeiro on my birthday to see the last concert of one of my favorite bands(Broken Social Scene!)
*Go to Iceland with 10 euros . Took a bus, a boat and an airplane and have the greatest travel ever.
*Walk the corcovado up to Christ the Redeemer.
*Work as a WWOFer at a organic farm in Germany.
*Bike around Europe is always great! I have done some bike trips between cities in Netherlands and now in Sweden.
