About Me

If saving money or just "having a place to crash" during your stay in Paris are the main reason for you to make Couchsurfing I might not be the right host for you. I'm inviting people to share a human experience and don't want to host guests who only expect to find a free accomodation in Paris.

1/ Read both the two sections of my profile:
- "ABOUT" where you'll find a lot of information about me.
- "MY HOME" where you'll find a lot of useful information according to your potential stay at my place.
Beware, you'll find information to add to your request in each of those sections.
2/ Write a PERSONALIZED COUCH REQUEST clicking on the "Send Request" blue button on this page. I don't host people sending just private messages.
3/ By "personalized couch request" I don't mean just writing my name in. I expect to read a message showing why you want to meet me and which tastes we have in common that could drive us to share a nice experience if I decide to accept to offer you a shelter. Avoid the messages making me feel like you're booking a hotel or a hostel room, you're requesting someone for whom you're a total foreigner to have the kindness to offer you a shelter.
4/ Due to an EXTREMELY BAD experience I WON'T:
- host you if you don't provide me in your request a valid phone number/Facebook/WhatsApp/Viber
- give you spare key but if I need you to come back before me. Then I'll take a copy of your ID card/Passeport and Visa.
5/ You'll receive my house rules with my acceptance. Read them properly, they were written to make your stay at my place easier and more enjoyable for all of us.
6/ Come back to me one or two days before your arrival to get my address and detailed directions.

Hello, I'm Guillaume, a Parisian native, one of the most active European hosts (I host 250/300 Csers a year), a foodie, a good cook and a fine wines and spirits connoisseur, it actually became my job since the last three years. If you're searching for a couch in Paris, want advices to explore the city and are curious to improve your skills about these 3 subjects, I can help ;0)

I appreciate smily, open minded and curious people who like to share knowledge and experiences. Males, females, solo travelers, couples or groups of friends are welcomed to my place. Motivated newbies or experienced surfers also. Being neat and organized are a plus and being a party animal coming back late just to sleep a minus.

I'm trying to be a good ambassador of my city and of my country.

Life is too short: keep discovering and enjoying!

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

CS is a real human experience for me: I receive surfers as I receive friends, I cook for them (we'll share the costs) , give them all the necessary tricks to visit Paris and to save as much money as possible, guide them if I have time to and globally help them as much as I am able to.

I received 1 500++ guests in Paris, modarated the Paris Emergency Forum and surfed only twice but always meet locals when traveling.

Travelling, Walking, Everything which is related to hiring of with people/tastes/sensations (chating, cooking, sharing food/a glass of wine/a cocktail/a fine spirit, ...), Theater and cinema (I have a large and various collection of films in both original and French version), Almost all kind of musics, Operas (I regularly go to Vienna, Prague or Budapest just to enjoy some) .

Music, Movies & Books

The Last Emperor, Memories of a Geisha, Schindler's List, The Secret Life of Walter Mighty, Into the Wilde, Malavita, The theory of everything, James Bond, Indiana Jones, Jason Bourne's Trilogy, Matrix, The Silence of the Lambs, Red Dragon, Hannibal, thrillers, action films, dramas and teenage silliest comedies (I know I'm too old for those, and so what???)

Tom Clancy, Robert Ludlum, Michael Crichton, Ken Follett, Robin Cook

Pop (Mika, Simply Red, ...), Rock (Green Day, Offspring, Limpkin Park, ...), Techno Dance (David Guetta, Martin Solveig, Bob Sinclar, ...), ElectroPop, Lounge, Jazz, Classical music and opera.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I used to work for a few governments/diplomatic representations/officials/ministers and still assist a worldwide famous woman when she visites Paris.

Teach, Learn, Share

Useful sentences in French, How to cook some tasty dishes, The process of a wine/spirit tasting, Where to find hidden spots/weird and creepy things in churches, How to make someone offer your drink(s) in a bar.

Photography techniques, New dishes to cook, Whatever else you could teach me.

What I Can Share With Hosts

SURFING: a confortable and warm place to sleep with fast (13 mins) and direct access to Paris deep city center.

VISITING PARIS: My guidance/ City maps and advices to visit touristic or non touristic Paris/Addresses of best cocktail bars downtown/Addresses of affordable restaurants (6 to 20 euros/person)/Addresses to taste wines and spirits for free during the weekend.

I consider talking while having a good dinner the best way to get to know each others. If we do, as written upstairs, we'll share the cost of food or go for groceries together. Sometimes I prepare very fancy food like foie gras, snails or champagne (I can arrange for Christmas, New Year's Eve, Birthdays or on request ... I always let surfers know in advance). I also highly appreciate when my guests take the time to cook for me :0)

OTHERS: My bad jokes if you really insist???
More seriously please add the magic word to your request and don't forget to write also the details I'm asking for in the "my home" section of this profile. If something is missing I might decline it as I want to be sure you read all my profile before choosing to contact me. What is the magic word? Come on... What could it be but "Abracadabra" ;0)
