About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Trying to be myself and enjoy that.

ABOUT ME

Bonjour à tous!

I'm Vincent, living in the south of France in a small village near Agen where there is nothing else but quiet fields with birds and plum trees. A taste of happiness if you have a deep inner life. I was quite a happy person I guess. The last 3 years, I have to admit, were difficult. Mid-life crisis + Covid. Not a good cocktail. I hope I'll find again the rainbow and the treasure.
I work in a small town in high school where I'm teaching physical sciences. A good job .

I am a very curious and demanding person .
I have a strong feeling (but not enough) of the brevity of life and so, often, a nostalgic mood . I don't want to loose time . One life on earth, no more. Not religious at all. In some aspect I'm a decreasing and vintage man. . No Facebook, no Smartphone. Simplicity.
As a traveller I really want to visit , observe , and smell ,some parts of my world before the great standardization of our way of living.
I travel several times a year and notice all my pictures and feelings on a simple site http://lesvoyagesdeguirdal.free.fr .

PHILOSOPHY

"Fly as high as you can". It' s a good advice. If I am able to do it I must do it . Live and not only exist. Be rich in souvenirs, not in objects. Less objects, more in mind. Meet the world. Love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I am trying to do my best as a surfer . I don't want to be a weight, I want to share, laugh and have fun.
I am now waiting for people to visit me. My place is far from everywhere..so ...it's not so busy here. Sharing the house with my mother, hosting now, with Covid, is not a good time for me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I started with CS in october 2009 in Berlin . It was a great experience . It has changed everything in my approach to the town , to the people. Since then this is the way I try to travel . London ,Istanbul,Malaysia, Singapour,North Germany, Philippines, Estonia, Romania, Canada,Italy, Poland, Latvia...and more. Such great souvenirs and emotions. It's really an amazing concept. Actually, it was, I don't know how it can survive, in the new world we have to struggle with. What about the easiness of sharing with somebody? Traveling must be sharing, otherwise I'll stay at home. I'm looking for differences. Eat local and love global.

Interests

I read a lot ( novels, philosophy, sciences, travel writers..).I like sports . Not a champion but not bad ( fitness , running, trekking, skiing, cycling, volley ball). I play the guitar and like rock, heavy metal and indie folk music.
I like arts , I'm fascinated by artists maybe because I am not one. I often go to my nearest theater to watch what's on.
I like to write also.
I love nature ( Greenpeace ,Sea Sheperd and WWF) , my ocean and I can't stand the vision of hurting animals. That's why I'm limiting my amount of meat.
But my main hobby is like a lot of people here : TRAVELING.
