Hello this is Gunes Pekyalcin from Turkey. Turkish names all have meanings, and mine means the "sun" :)

I am 37 years old with a teenage soul. Mature enough to be aware of responsibilities and young enough to have fun at the same time.
Travelling is my passion. I love connecting with people from different countries and cultures. I don't like being a tourist any more; I want to be a part of the culture by connecting with locals and live the most of it while travelling. . Sharing the experiences is the greatest part I think.
I used to work as a sales executive for well known brands like Red Bull and Heineken. I am experienced in FMCG and Food and Beverage. I worked with hotels and restaurants for many years in Istanbul. I also worked in a culinary academy. My final job was beeing an office manager for the biggest rent a car brand in Turkey.
Besides my professional work life; I am a traveller, a nature lover, a singer (in a rock band), a writer, and a photographer all amateur. I am good at cooking (used to work with world wide executive chefs), and I love repairing things as a hobby. Working with construcion materials and tools comes like therapy sometimes :)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

And here I am in "Couchsurfing". I have a warm feeling that I am in the right place. (I am also a volunteer in Workaway)
I've been working since the first year of college; I decided to take a pause to follow my passions and quit my job. Maybe in this path I walk, I can find the ideal job for me which will make me happier :) With just earning money and not helping others in a social way, I can't get enough satisfaction in the heart. Cultural exchange will be a great opportunity for me.
