About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To get a bite to eat, then go to bed.

ABOUT ME

I work a lot in the law, do a lot of journalism, write music, blog about saunas, play soccer and try to dance and go see art, movies and music as much as possible. I also like to eat good food. Some random bits: I used to write for a magazine in Finland. I worked for National Geographic. I can never win at rock, paper, scissors. I hitchhiked over Mexico and Malaysia. I planted trees and worked with orangutans. I almost got caught by terrorists, sunk by a typhoon and pillaged by pirates in one boat ride. I am a vegetarian. I'm difficult to beat at monopoly. I worked for a student union for a year. I have no sense of fashion. I'm addicted to saunas and high-end scotch.

PHILOSOPHY

I'll tell you when I've figured it out.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I write about Couchsurfing in the Tyee and 6 degrees magazine!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'd couchsurfed all over; on the system and on friends couches. Lots of friends let me crash and I sometimes do their dishes or fill their fridge if I've got the money. A guy I met hitch hiking let me crash at his house in malaysia for free...I talked to him and his wife and kid about my life in Canada and they did the same for me. It was sweet. The guy in Malaysia who demanded I have sex with him in return for a place to crash was not such an awesome experience but 99% of surfers on this system have been definitely enjoyable.

Interests

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Survived this long.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to juggle, how to play old electric organs, how to cook an excellent noodle soup in a coffee machine, how to save money and about some political things you might not be skilled in. I would like to learn languages, how to cook a good lasagne, how to sew the holes in my pants, how to put on a music show and where the best spots in an area are. How to overthrow uneven global power distribution would be good too. I can share some of my food and time. And shirts.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Hmmm. Can probably score you some drinks and food. You can use the gym, pool at my work.
