ABOUT ME
Well I'm a librarian, so maybe a bit quiet at first but the life of the party on a Friday night :) I can't live without books, art, culture and history, but equally I love to watch F1, talk about anything with people for hours and go dancing!
Above all else I love to travel. I love living somewhere where you can drive half an hour and be amongst people speaking a completely different language, eating different food, watching the same crap reality TV shows ha ha...
PHILOSOPHY
The most important thing in life is to try to be happy. This is more difficult than it sounds.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Loved the group meetings in Nice & met some great people there - hope to continue to do so in Tours! Hosted once - was a bit nervous but thought I really should help someone stranded by the volcanic eruptions, and it was a great experience. Since I'm flatting, I can't really host on a regular basis, but I definitely support the concept!

Music, Movies, and Books
Books: I'm a voracious reader, did an MA in English Literature... Some favs are Catch-22, A Clockwork Orange, most things by Murakami, Shakespeare, medieval literature, The Yellow Wallpaper, The First Circle, Crime and Punishment. Historical fiction & true crime are my guilty literary pleasures...
Music: Kings of Leon, The Strokes, The Killers, Queen, Sublime. I guess alternativey type things. I hardly ever listen to the radio since I got an ipod so a bit out of touch with what the kiddies are listening to these days.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Driving past St Basil's on my first day in Moscow was pretty amazing. I'd sort of dreamed of living in Russia for years and never actually thought I'd achieve it - and then there I was, on a snowy day at the beginning of winter, on my way to starting a new life & a new job in Moscow. Incredible feeling! As it turned out, I hated the job and had to work so much I hardly saw anything of Moscow in the 2 months I lived there, but hey - I still went there and did it and nothing can take that feeling away!
Teach, Learn, Share
I would love to improve my French (and Russian for that matter, but maybe later...) & I'm happy to help you improve your English. I'm passionate about art, history and books & would love staying up all night talking as well as staying up all night partying.
