I am from the western United States, but in such a state of constant motion, that it is difficult to name a home. When I have a house, I like to host couch surfers for fun and a departure from the day to day. My work and education is in environmental science, but I spend enough time at work that I really don't want to talk about it. I play music, cook, and write to relax, when I have some dirt, I like to grow a garden.

I like to travel on the cheap, not just to save money, but to meet new people. Couchsurfing provides the opportunity to meet new friends and get to know a place quickly, from the perspective of the locals. It is a richer experience than wandering around like a stranger in a strange place, though that can be good sometimes too.

Music, writing, alternative energy, growing things, martial arts-boxing lately. I might like to try a little busking while I'm abroad.
