Overview
About Me
I love adventure and exploring new places. One of my favorite parts of traveling is keeping my heart and mind open and connecting with complete strangers.. even knowing that you will never cross paths again. I think these connections make us human. Everyone has an amazing story and I love hearing about other people's experiences.
I currently live in Kona, Hawai'i and it has my heart.
I also sing in a rock band.. which is my favorite thing in the whole world. Let's sing together or make some music!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I stared my CS journey 8 years ago when me and 2 friends traveled across the United States by staying with friends, camping and Couchsurfing! All of my CS experiences were amazing. Yay for the internet and fellow travelers!!
Interests
Some of my hobbies include hiking, rock climbing, slacklining & relaxing at the beach.
I place a lot of value on connecting with the people around me. Hawai'i has changed my life in so many ways and has shown me the importance of community. I love sharing food with friends and being of service to the people around me.
In April I will be starting an online course to become a certified grief counselor. I regularly volunteer for Hospice of Kona and I find a lot of joy from helping others navigate the rocky terrain of grief.

Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite type of music is jam/funk. My favorite bands include Umphrey's McGee, the String Cheese Incident, Lotus, STS9, Lettuce and many many more.
I studied film in college so I love watching movies with a very analytical mind. I would love to rant to you about feminist film theory. Some of my favorite films include:
Y Tu Mama Tambien
Boogey Nights
Thelma and Louise
I love reading fantasy novels and listening to non-fiction. I'm currently reading the Lord of the Rings trilogy for the first time and listening to "All About Love" by bell hooks.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Moved to Hawaii on a whim!
