ABOUT ME

I'm a dual-citizen of the United States and the United Kingdom. I travel to different countries teaching English. I enjoy taking part in music and theatre, but only for fun in my spare time. I have trouble staying in one place for too long, hence the appeal of this website when I was told about it. Somewhere in the near future I'd like to do a Phd in Philosophy.

PHILOSOPHY

No matter what you do, don't stop reading. For everything you read that you agree with, read two things that you disagree with. Don't only surround yourself with like-minded people. This advice also helps prove my point that I can't sum up any personal philosophy without sounding pretentious.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I'm traveling a lot for work and my wife is at university in England so it's hard to give people a place to stay, this will hopefully change next year. I use it mostly to meet interesting people wherever my company sends me.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

It has been nothing but positive, I don't think I could ever go back to traveling without it.

Music: Jazz, Classical, Southern Rock, and just about anything that I like the sound of. Books: God of Small Things, A Passage to India, Elmer Gantry, The Name of The Rose, and any philosophy, history or science.

I've watched the sun rise at Mt. Everest. Wasn't fit enough to hike it, but it was still amazing.

I consider myself pretty good at erudite conversation in general. But if you want to talk in depth about philosophy, religion or politics those are my strongest areas. Also, if you want to know where to get the best and most eclectic mix of food and drink in the area, all you have to do is ask.
