ABOUT ME

Curly hair, easygoing, and sweet. I'm down for almost anything. I was an art major, so I have love and appreciation for anything beautiful. Politically, I'm very left, so I'm a Progressive... very liberal. I'm at the end of my 20's, and I still have no idea what my purpose in life should be. I'm thinking travel will help give me some direction. Maybe. :)

PHILOSOPHY

I don't think that life owes me anything. I'm very lucky to be who I am, where I am, and am thankful for my life every day. I'm humble and grateful for all that has been given to me.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

My favorite place is a dark place. It’s a small cave on Maui... Makena State Park... filled with fresh water. I jump off a natural platform into the pool, and it’s cold and dimly lit. There’s a rainbow of minerals on the roof of the cave, and there’s echoes from a couple kids laughing in the water. There’s a fissure in the side of the cavern that everyone else ignores. I swim up to it, and the black is impenetrable. Immediately my imagination jumps to all the possibilities hidden in the dark, all the indescribable dangers that it could harbor. What if there was no end? After this brief thrill of fear, however, I remember that there’s really nothing there to be afraid of. I laugh and am giddy with the manifestation of the unknown. I swim into the fissure. I force myself to swim, groping in the dark, hands slipping against the smooth, damp walls. It is utterly dark. My heart is pounding, and my eyes are wide, taking in pure nothing. I keep swimming, and it feels like forever, until there is, indeed, an end. My hands hit solid stone, and I relax. I turn around, rest my back to the wall, and look back at where I’d come from. The light is softest blue, like the dawn, shimmering on the bottom of the pool in the distance. The darkness that was so deep before reveals its secrets, and the faintest light reflects off the walls of the fissure. I could stay in this place forever.

I'm experienced in American Sign Language. My parents are both educated and successful Deaf people, and they taught me ASL from birth. I now work as an interpreter. I'm always happy to talk about my experiences.
