ABOUT ME

Hello!
My name is Konrad.

In the past I used to be an aspiring traveller, adventurous and bold. But now I aimlessly wander doing volunteering or seasonal jobs around Europe, waiting for something to happen.

I sometimes host from different places than Oświęcim, so don't be surprised (or suspicious!) if you receive an invitation from a different town or city. But I'm never long enough in once place, to set it as my fixed location.

If you are visiting, whenever possible please bring some of your country's coins (equivalents of cents, pences etc.) for my collection! Thanks!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I hosted more times, than I surfed. I had generally positive experiences, there were a few just 'okay' ones, but not once a bad one. And I hope it will stay that way.

兴趣

There is very few things in this world that I don't find interesting.
Interests that I pursue actively are:
- Reading; especially historical novels, adventure, less and less fantasy. I like to read popular-science books about mythologies, anthropology, culture, history. Comic books if available, mangas as well.

As far as sports are concerned, there are; cycling, hiking, sailing (sadly, I don't have many opportunities to sail), occasionally football.

Computer games, and computer games industry. I play a lot of games, sometimes I do mods or translate them.

Recently I read a lot about permaculture, renewable energy, sustainable farming, natural building and other eco nonsense. I try to put it into practice whenever possible.

Books - as I mentioned I like adventure / fantasy books. Favourite authors: Alexandr Dumas, Julius Verne, Karl May, Alfred Szklarski, J.R.R. Tolkien, Bernard Cornwell, Ursula Le Guin, Marion Zimmer Bradley, Andrzej Sapkowski.

^ That was so long time ago. While I still like to read a lot of historical fiction, as e.g Cornwell, Walter Scott. I find great pleasure in Russian realism novels from Lew Tolstoj, Fiodor Dostojewski.

I'm not so much into movies, from time to time I pick some TV show, or anime.

I'm always ready listen about my guests' hobbies, culture, languages, experiences etc. I will be happy to learn a few words or phrases in my guests' language. I can share secrets of Polish language as well.
