About Me

Desperately behind on television, perpetually hobby shopping, excitedly scouting small stage shows and music venues, experimentally attempting cooking/baking projects, and not so subtly looking for excuses to go outside

Somewhat recovered nerd, who now also likes to do other stuff (improv comedy, nature, travel, etc.)

I'm always excited to meet new people and explore a new place!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Meet locals and other travelers, make connections, to experience a place with others

Interests

I recently started taking improv comedy classes. I love how they got me out of my head and challenged me in a good way.

Last year I took a Wilderness Travel Course which gave me an opportunity to go camping in the snow, snow shoeing, rock scrambling, and do some of the hardest hiking I've ever done. I loved it!

Music, Movies, and Books

Music:
I love going to small music venues!

Lately I've been listening to mostly soul, jazz, funk, blues, alt rock, indie music, and Pomplamoose. Open to all kinds!

Books:
Enjoying some short stories and poetry while I decide what novel to attempt. I really love Elisa Gabbert, Ada Limon, J. Robert Lennon, Paige Lewis, Haruki Murakami, and Kazuo Ishiguro

Movies:
Documentaries, indie films, Wong Kar Wai, Wes Anderson, subtitles! Movie nights with friends span from classics (Jaws, Alien, Star Trek 2), Bollywood/Tollywood (RRR, Disco Dancer), and goofy 80s-90s movies (Beverly Hills Cop, The Return of the Living Dead)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Unprompted, I was approached by a local in an tea house in Córdoba, Spain. We talked for over an hour and I was converted by the need to keep solo traveling

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach: Basic improv comedy? I used to be a PhD student in Biology before falling into becoming a Software Engineer. I may be handy as tech support

Otherwise, I'm happy to attempt to speak for all Americans 😂

Please tell me about your culture, your favorite parts, your least favorite parts, and teach me how to dance 🕺

What I Can Share with Hosts
