Xin chào! Tôi là Hoàng Hải.

I'm a recently graduated student from Vietnam. Although my job and degree sound so dry, my personality is not :) Life is too short to stay in the same location for the rest of your life, I always looking for new opportunities to travel.

When it comes to travel, I want to go to places with rich culture, I want somewhere so packed with religions, tradition, exotic food and even controversies. That's why I choose India for my 1-month trip. I want to live as an Indian in India, from the South to North, East to West, to understand their daily lives, to hear their opinions about everything: from big things like religions, cuisine, politics to their daily life struggles.

India is still somewhat a mysterious country in Vietnam and when it is mentioned on news, they are usually full of awful things. The biggest thing I learnt from my 6 weeks in Turkey is DON'T TRUST THE MEDIA. I believe in a beautiful India without all that stereotypes. I want to see the real India with my bare eyes and re-feel that terrific/terrified feeling when living abroad once again.

Same with movies and tv series. My 10 stars rated movies on imdb are: Inception, A Separation, Black Swan, In The Mood For Love, Farewell My Concubine, American Beauty, Sucker Punch, The Sixth Sense, Life of Pi, Old Boy, Kill Bill and Requiem for a Dream.

My favorite tv series include Friends, Mad Men, Fargo, Westworld, Stranger Things, The Office, Park and Rec, ...

I can talk with you about basically everything. From communism status in Vietnam, our love-hate relationship with China to pop culture like Kpop, Kim Kardashian, blockbuster,... as I love to hear yours too. Tell me about your family, your job, recommend me the best Bollywood movies, nicest places to be, I promise I will listen with all my heart :)
I'm also very interested in cooking, please show me how to prepare a meal in India. I will bring some food from Vietnam to share with you.
