Overview
About Me
Hi, I’m Haider! Originally from Pakistan, now living in St. Louis where I’m pursuing my MPH. I’m curious by nature and love experiencing the little details that make each place and culture unique—whether it’s food, local stories, or hidden corners of a city.
Outside of studies and research, I enjoy cooking simple but hearty meals, exploring art and nature spots, and having long conversations over coffee or tea. I’ve recently joined Couchsurfing because I believe travel is about people more than places, and nothing beats learning from locals or fellow travelers.
I’m easygoing, respectful, and always happy to lend a hand—whether that’s cooking together, sharing stories, or just giving space when needed.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For me, travel has always been more about people than places. I joined Couchsurfing because I want to connect with locals and fellow travelers, hear their stories, and share mine in return. Staying in hotels feels too distant, Couchsurfing feels real.
I love the idea of cultural exchange, whether that’s cooking a meal together, exploring hidden spots in a city, or just having long conversations over tea or coffee. I’m also excited to host in the future when I can, to give back the same warmth and hospitality I’ve received.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I moved across the world on my own to start graduate school in the U.S.—a mix of excitement, fear, and adventure that changed how I see myself and the world.
Teach, Learn, Share
📖 Teach
I can share some basics of South Asian cooking, public health knowledge, and even tips for navigating student life abroad. I also enjoy exchanging language—happy to teach some Urdu phrases if you’re curious.
🌱 Learn
I’d love to learn about new cultures, hidden local traditions, and everyday life in different parts of the world. Also open to picking up new recipes, music, or any random skills people are willing to share.
🤝 Share
Good food, good conversations, and good company. I can share stories from my travels and research, and I’m always happy to cook together or just spend time exchanging ideas and experiences.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I’m happy to help out around the house, run errands, or just be good company. I can also share a few laughs, stories from my research and travels, and hopefully leave behind a little bit of positivity from my stay.
