About Me

CURRENT MISSION

My current mission is to be kind, welcome new experiences, dive as often as I can and find a way to incorporate as much travel into my life as possible.

ABOUT ME

I speak fluent silence and am trying to practice my call of the wild.

I work at a dive shop in Kona. When I'm not diving or working, I'm usually out hiking or at the beach.

PHILOSOPHY

Live the life you want.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Open to hosting again! Looking forward to meeting fun people and hopefully fostering some relationships to do some traveling of my own. Looking to host people that are interested in getting to know each other a bit. Totally cool with you doing your own thing and having your own schedule, but not looking to host people that are just looking to take advantage. Respect is important.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far it's been awesome. It's a beautiful idea and I've had good luck through hosting and being hosted. Met some cool people.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

Books: Many, but I particularly love National Geographic, travel writing essays and The Phantom Tollbooth.

Movies: Harvey, The Good the Bad and the Ugly, City Lights.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I get paid to take people diving/snorkeling with manta rays :)

Teach, Learn, Share

It's always hard to tell what will be relevant to share till you get there. I feel like the more I learn, the less I know. But I'm looking to learn anything anyone is willing to teach me. I am particularly interested in learning new ways to interact with the outdoors. I want to learn more about farming and gardening, fly fishing, rock climbing, sailing, scuba diving, surfing, backpacking and kayaking, but also, I love meeting people that can teach me about the flora, fauna and natural wonders in their backyard. Also anything practical. Like how to build or fix stuff.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Cool spots to visit while here on the Big Island; beaches, hiking trails, places to eat, activities worth doing, places to go diving and what kinds of critters you may find there. Getting pretty good at identifying marine life here in Kona. If you're a certified diver and we hit it off, maybe I can take you diving. I can tell you A LOT about manta rays.
