My mission is to see and do as much as I can in this life, as well as meet many new people.

ABOUT ME

I am a college student studying environmental science. I am from Portland, Oregon in the United States, but I am currently studying abroad in Freiburg, Germany and will be tunil summer 2015. I love going out and exploring and meeting new people. I am easy going, and I am looking for lots of new experiences!

PHILOSOPHY

My personal philosophy is to love and to give people the benefit of the doubt. It is not always easy, but I believe it is important to keep an open mind and give things a chance before ruling them out. More often than not, I find that first impressions are not very accurate. You never know what lessons you may learn from someone new, and I live to be inspired.

Interests

I love reading, hanging out with friends, and practicing my German. A few interests that I have but am lacking experience in are cooking, gardening, slacklining, and tai chi. But what I really want to focus on is getting into yoga.
I haven't written poetry for quite some time, but it is also something I'm considering revisiting.

Music, Movies, and Books

Into the Wild is one of my favorite books because I find it inspirational what Chris McCandless did, despite how his story ended. I also really enjoy A Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, What Dreams May Come, The Book Thief, Harry Potter, Ishmael, The Kite Runner, Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, and many others that I can't think of at the moment.

I don't watch movies too often just because I don't usually have time, but a few of my favorite classic movies are V for Vendetta, The Gladiator, The Mighty, Dead Poets Society, Slumdog Millionaire, Good Will Hunting, and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World. I also really love documentaries.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went caving underground in Budapest during winter 2014 with a really cool group a people, all of whom were strangers to me in the beginning. We had an awesome cave guide who allowed us to experience complete darkness and complete silence together, and though we came from different parts of the world, some of us are still in touch.
