Overview
About Me
My name is Hajar and I’m a peaceful animator who loves creativity and meaningful connections.
I’m married to Mortie: https://www.couchsurfing.com/people/omortie
I studied in Tabriz, where I started hiking and fell in love with nature. Hiking, running, and keeping a healthy lifestyle are now a big part of my life.
I can be a little quiet at first when meeting new people, but once I feel comfortable I really enjoy deep conversations about culture, psychology, art, and society. I’m curious about people’s stories and like to exchange thoughts and experiences.
Movies, art, and philosophy inspire me a lot. I love independent cinema and thought-provoking stories. Animation is not only my job but also my passion, and I’m always learning new ways to mix art and technology.
Travel for me is about experiencing everyday life in different places, sharing moments, and making genuine connections. I appreciate kindness, openness, and respect in people.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Meeting other people to discover other cultures, share daily life, and build genuine connections.
For me, Couchsurfing is not only about finding a place to stay, but about exchanging stories, ideas, and perspectives.
I believe that the best way to understand a place is through its people — their routines, their food, their humor, and their way of seeing the world
Interests
During my travels, I gradually realized that the culture and tastes of the people are more attractive to me than the nature of that region, and my travels took a different direction. I am also interested in analyzing people, cultures, behaviors, etc.
Most of the articles I have read have been in the field of personal development, psychology and sociology, but I have no claims in these areas :)
My hobbies (besides camp, nature and travel) are listening to music, watching movies, going to the cinema, going to museums and seeing antiquities and occasionally drawing.
I am happy to see new people and get acquainted with different cultures ☘
It is very interesting for me to see the monuments and imagine what people thought in the past. I also like to sit in nature for hours and pay attention to the details of nature and its life cycle. Relaxation in nature and travel is more attractive to me than excitement, but exciting experiences can also be fascinating.

Music, Movies, and Books
Movies & Series
I really enjoy thought-provoking movies, especially works by Darren Aronofsky, Steven Spielberg, and Martin Scorsese. I also love festival short films and creative animations. Anime is another passion of mine — both for the storytelling and the artistic style.
Books
I often read psychology, sociology, and philosophy books. I enjoy stories and essays that help me understand people, culture, and society in a deeper way.
Music
Relaxing and instrumental music are my favorites, but I can enjoy almost any type of music depending on the mood. For me, music is a way to calm down, focus, or sometimes just celebrate life
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I once climbed down a waterfall into a valley with just a harness — a mix of fear and excitement that made me feel stronger than ever.
Another amazing adventure was hitchhiking across many roads in Iran. Along the way, I stayed with Kurdish, Baluch, Turkish, and other families, sharing meals and stories. Experiencing so many different cultures inside one country opened my eyes and gave me unforgettable memories
