I live in Shenzhen, so I'm now able to provide a couch

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

A few; the best one was a particularly bizarre fruit-obsessed lady from Guangdong in Beijing who helped me with my CV and living in a Bucharest palace with a brilliant sleek cat of Romania with my own sofa air-bed; kings and men all go back in the same box. Turkey and Hong Kong feature but have no starring roles, only bit-parts.

The history of House and Techno, Jackin', Ottoman Turkish History, Don Quixote de La Mancha, Colonial History (there's a theme here), linguis-tics, particularly semantics and petty squabbles over fricative verb usage in Classical Yucatec Mayan, American Football, Turkish cinema/cinema in general, Patsy Cline, Bop Jazz, the history and culture of Hong Kong and Taiwan and the history of the most beautiful of all political systems, Democracy.

Lived on a council estate and spent 4 mind-numbing years sitting on park swings, continually wishing I could be 18 soon.

Grew up near trees and friends with which to climb them. On most days we would hang around and make Huckleberry Finn "soon the future won't be this simplistic or idyllic" references.

Broke into the Gobi desert; which, at the point I entered was brilliantly fenced off and required pay'd entry, and probably still does. Therefore, naturally reasoned that only idiots pay to enter extremely arid locations, and climbed the rusty fence which surrounded the large area around the entrance, suffering a ripped shirt and arm on said fence. Then saw the desert.

Turkish and Turkic (Central Asian) food, Basque Food and language, human expression through language and anything close-at-hand, Chinese historic facts, European historic perspectives, general historic facts and black and white distinctions, Zoology, Natural History, engineering and medical knowledge, geographic help (I can look at maps real hard like you've seen only a few times)and I write books.

I can speak, read and write Mandarin and Cantonese Chinese, teaching these subjects to a prospective learner however is another matter, but it's worth a bash.
