Haley was born and raised in Vancouver - a west coast city surrounded by mountains and the Salish Sea. As much as she loves exploring her own backyard, Haley is always looking for opportunities to live abroad and enhance her understanding of people, places and cultures. In 2013, Haley moved to South Korea to teach English to children living in rural areas who lacked access to quality education. In 2015, she moved to Los Angeles where she interned for a non-profit organisation that rescues and resettles North Korean refugees. For ten weeks she traveled across California bringing people together to educate and equip them with tools to start making a difference. Haley feels most alive when she is working to empower others to act and she believes that her future in sustainability will ultimately lead her to this type of work. Haley’s interest in sustainability has grown intimately in tandem with her journey of personal development, so when she’s not focusing on her studies she’s practicing yoga, trying to meditate or listening to a podcast.

Haley recently trekked the Juan de Fuca Marine Trail, a 47km coastal wilderness trail in Canada.
