Overview
About Me
My name is Hamidu Mohamed Daud, born on December 3, 1991. I am currently working as a waiter/host at Chibuba Airport Accommodation in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, where I have been employed since 2023. My role involves delivering excellent customer service and ensuring a comfortable and welcoming experience for all guests.
In addition to my hospitality career, I hold a certificate in pool operation and maintenance, with expertise in pool chemicals and contracts. I am also studying accommodation services, focusing on areas like room rates and frequent guest programs.
Previously, I played professional soccer in the Tanzania Premier League for Mbeya City Football Club (2014-2019) and Tanzania Prisons (2020-2022). My diverse background has equipped me with strong teamwork, leadership, and customer-focused skills.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because I love connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. As someone who works in the hospitality industry, I enjoy making guests feel at home, and Couchsurfing allows me to extend this passion beyond my workplace. It’s a great platform to meet fellow travelers, share experiences, and learn new perspectives.
My previous experience as a professional soccer player and my current role as a waiter/host have taught me the value of teamwork, adaptability, and openness. Whether it's sharing local tips about Dar es Salaam or learning from my guests’ travel stories, I look forward to meaningful exchanges that broaden my worldview. I'm here to explore, connect, and offer a welcoming space to those passing through.

Music, Movies, and Books
My Favorite Music, Movies & Books:
Music: I enjoy a variety of music genres, from Afrobeats to Bongo Flava, which is popular in Tanzania. Artists like Diamond Platnumz and Ali Kiba are some of my favorites. I also enjoy relaxing to reggae and classic R&B when I’m in a more laid-back mood.
Movies: I’m a fan of action-packed movies and sports films that highlight teamwork and perseverance. Some of my favorite movies include Remember the Titans, The Fast and the Furious series, and Invictus. I also enjoy comedies and films with inspiring stories.
Books: When it comes to reading, I like books that focus on personal development, motivation, and success. Some of my favorite reads are The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People by Stephen Covey and You Are a Badass by Jen Sincero. I also enjoy reading about soccer, both for the strategy and the stories of famous players.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most amazing things I’ve done is having the opportunity to welcome guests from different countries to my workplace. I’ve had the pleasure of hosting people from nations like France, Germany, India, Canada, the UK, Malawi, and South Africa. It's been incredible not only to serve them but also to connect on a personal level, making them feel comfortable and creating a friendly atmosphere. It’s always fulfilling to see guests leave with a smile, knowing that I contributed to their positive experience in Tanzania.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: I’m happy to share my knowledge of hospitality and how to make guests feel welcome. I can also teach about soccer, especially sharing insights from my experience as a professional player. If you’re interested in pool operation or maintenance, I can offer tips on that too!
Learn: I’m always eager to learn more about different cultures, languages, and cuisines from around the world. Whether it's learning a few words in a new language or understanding how things are done in different countries, I’m open to gaining new perspectives.
Share: I can share my experiences of living in Tanzania, from local traditions to the best places to visit. I also love sharing stories about soccer and travel, and I’m always ready to exchange ideas about hospitality and guest services.
What I Can Share with Hosts
As a guest, I can share my stories and experiences from living and working in Tanzania, especially in the hospitality industry. I can also share insights into Tanzanian culture, local cuisine, and places to visit. If you’re into sports, we can talk about soccer, and I’d be happy to share my experiences as a former professional player.
Additionally, I can share tips on pool maintenance and guest service, offering practical advice if you’re in the hospitality industry. I'm always ready for great conversations, whether it's about travel, food, or life in general.
