Hey! I'm Hana. I'm 22 years old and currently in my third year of studying Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology. I come from the west side of Slovenia - Goriška Brda, just a few meters away from the Italian border. Goriška Brda is a beautiful wine region you definitely don't want to miss! Due to my studies, I spend most of my days in the capital of Slovenia. But right now, as of October 2023 I am on an Erasmus exchange in Istanbul. I will be studying here for one year.

Because I've actually grown up with Couchsurfing :) I have an older brother and a sister, who hosted many couchsurfers in our home! I remember practicing my English with some, sharing a meal with others or some would even give us a hand around the house in our garden or vineyards. Having a stranger in our home was never weird for me, but rather a joyful experience that I wish to continue!

音乐、电影和书籍

As for the music it all depends on the mood! When I'm feeling really energetic I tend to listen to a lot of techno (been on a few raves) or at least some electronic, house beats to match my mood. But most days I resonate most with disco-pop, all the way from the 70's to 10's. Since starting my studies in Anthropology I also started to explore traditional music associated with different ethnic groups.

Not sure I have a favorite book, but to get a feeling of what kind of books I like, here's what I'm currently reading:
- On Identity; Amin Maalouf
- Magic among the Azande; E. E. Evans-Pritchard
- Small places, Large Issues; Thomas Hylland Eriksen

And as for the movies... to be honest, I'm not a huge fan! My friends make fun of me, because I always fall asleep in the first half of the movie. But maybe that's because I always end up sitting in front of a mainstream movie. So now if I do decide to watch something (but it's very rare), it's usually a non-Hollywood movie in a different language. Basically, movies that don't romanticize life in every aspect possible.

In Ljubljana:

I live in a student dorm, very close to the city center (10 min by walk). But since it's quite a small room I only have space for one person max. I can share coffee/tea, a good meal, tips to explore Ljubljana and of course my company! If I'll have time, I would also love to join you around the city!

In my hometown Goriška Brda:

I can host more than 2 people at the same time. My grandma is always cooking or baking so there's always something homemade to eat at the table :) we have a lot of land around the house, so there is also always something to do - from working in the garden, cutting wood, working in the cellar (bottling wine, wine inventory) or in the vineyards. It all depends on the season you decide to visit. Oh and of course, I can share our wine with you!
