ABOUT ME

Hey all! We are Hanako and Alex and we had the pleasure of traveling through the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, Austria, Italy, France, and Spain during a 3 month cycling and train trip in 2012. It was magical to say the least and we were deeply touched by the hospitality and friendship that we found in the couch surfing community.
We are from United States, Los Angeles California, and we are interested in connecting with and understanding the world around us. We hope to engage with others who are excited about loving life and living love.
Our current adventure is raising our son who was born in October of 2013.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Right now we aren't really hosting, but we would love to connect with people coming through LA or help them connect with people who are able to host and to show people around town.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

We have been hosted by some pretty amazing people throughout Europe. We hope to return to the states and get a chance to welcome others the same way we have been welcomed.

We love food (Alex is an amazing cook), we love art (Hanako is a choreographer) and most of all we love bikes! We both commute around Los Angeles by bike. Hanako comes from the beach side of LA, and Alex from Downtown. Between the two of us we have gotten to know much of the city by bicycle.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Alex- Flipping a car on Christmas and walking out just fine. I valued my life much more from that day on.

Hanako- Going to school in Middletown Connecticut was the first time I was that far away from home in California for that long. It really hit me when some friends of mine and I decided to drive to New York City at 2am just for some diner food and the experience. Driving into New York with all the lights, and being near the water, I realized that I was across the country and in for many experiences to come.

Hanako- Very close to the epicenter of an earthquake in Quepos, Costa Rica on my birthday.

Both- Cycling through Northern Germany, Czech Republic and Southwest France as well as visiting other countries and cities on a whim during a 3 month adventure.

Both- The birth of our son at home.
