ABOUT ME

Yes, it's true and slightly embarrassing: We are Jack and Jackie in Jacksonville. We moved here a couple years ago from Guam, our favorite little island where we met and to which we will forever compare every other place we live. Northeast Florida has not been quite as tropical as we require, but we have grown an appreciation for the beach-cruiser (your basic one-speed and usually rusty beach bike) culture here. We've also made it our mission to see as many islands in the Caribbean as possible while we are in close range; so far we've made it to Puerto Rico, Vieques, St. Thomas, St. Croix, Grand Turk, and the Bahamas.
Traveling in general is a passion of ours, and Jack is just two continents shy of visiting them all.
We are undercover hippies taking sometimes extreme measures to conserve energy and water usage (if it's yellow, let it mellow...) and to make sure things get recycled.
We stay fairly active with running and Crossfit workouts. We are also aspiring surfers when the water is warm. Our beach cruisers get a lot of good miles as well on the sand and from pub to pub.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

We've yet to surf, but we are happy to host and always enjoy meeting up with other CouchSurfers for a day/meal/etc.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Hosted a mutual friend as our first surfer, who convinced us to get into it. We have since had two really positive experiences just meeting up with other surfers and having them show us around and lend us rum samples.
