About Me
ABOUT ME
Independent, cheerful, light-hearted, eats more than what my size allows! You'd be surprised...
I'm a bit shy and reserved at first, but if you're friendly and talkative, we'll get along great!
I'm a Muslim with a very open mind and heart. I mix and mingle with people from all sorts of background and I enjoy being exposed to new language and cultural experiences.
PHILOSOPHY
"Life expands or shrinks in proportion to one's courage" - Anaïs Nin
You're only really living when you move out of your comfort zone, so take a leap of faith and you'll find that whatever doubt or fears you had, or whatever risks you need to take, they will all be worth it in the end.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I go both ways; I surf and I host ;)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
So far I've only hosted a couple of times in London, but have yet to host in KL where I'm now based. Maybe after I have my own place! I hosted a couchsurfer-turned-friend at my sister's house in the Malaysian suburbs for a few nights once.
I love surfing especially during solo trips. I can enjoy my own company but I find that it's always nice to meet people and let them touch my life (and vice versa) even in the smallest way.
Interests
I love foreign languages. I love accents. I love listening to the little quirks in each person's ideolect. Travelling and meeting people open doors to these interests.
Currently I'm trying to learn several languages: Japanese, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Japanese... (Yes, I am greedy). But it's hard to be disciplined!

Music, Movies, and Books
I have quite a diverse taste in everything
Music - from indie alt, post-rock to good ol' Mariah Carey
Movies - fantasy, sci-fi, comedy, etc. Love Chris Nolan's work, LOTR. I really enjoy watching Japanese anime (helps me learn Japanese too)
Books - Harry Potter, Dan Brown's, etc... I have a case of 'tsundoku' though
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Climbed a mountain that's technically not a mountain, but still.
Teach, Learn, Share
Talk to me, cook with me and share with me your experiences - that's the recipe for a good CS relationship.
Most importantly, share your language! :)
I love cooking for both my hosts and guests, and sharing food or spices from my country.
What I Can Share with Hosts
My culture and religion are the two things I love to share. I've gotten a lot of questions about my religion, and I don't find them offensive at all. It's better to ask than make assumptions :)
Malaysian cuisine is one of the few things I'm proud of. I'd say I can cook pretty decent Malaysian dishes, but they barely scratch the surface of what my country can offer.
