About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To love myself. Extremely difficult

ABOUT ME

I'm an overgrown girl (and really tall, be prepared!) with a lot of quirks, who's trying not to be a child anymore, to be less chaotic and to speak a bit slower. I like to be among people, but I also need a lot of "me" time, curled up with a good book, a movie and my thoughts. But I can enjoy a good party and - above all - a good company!

PHILOSOPHY

Probably something too banal to share with the world

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I can't imagine getting to know the country/city without meeting its residents. It's 100 times less fun.

Interests

I'm interested in cinema (mostly french and italian), visual and pop culture and history of art. I enjoy hiking, skiing, skitouring, climbing, kayaking, biking, jogging, swimming. You know, the usual stuff :)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

The colours of Rajasthan, the monumental (and not at all overrated) Taj Mahal, the ghats in Varanasi and the haf-burned corpses floating down the Ganges. Really breathtaking!
The Palio in Siena - I will never forget these emotions, these tears, this fear and rage. This medieval tradition is still so alive there.
A funeral in Sa Pa (Vietnam) - we got invited by our Hmong hosts and experienced the killing of a buffalo. Watching this poor animal being disemboweled was extremely gruesome, but somehow I couldn't look away.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I always bring a polish specialty as a gift, usually in a liquid form, but I'm open to requests ;) I'm a decent cook, so you won't starve, but I'm not making pierogi for you (unless you want me to spend half the day in the kitchen). And although that's hardly a proper or valuable skill, I can also recommend some movies.
