Hello! I am a US student studying abroad for a semester in England. I am currently in my second year as a Chemistry major with a sociology minor, and have future career interests in using what I learn through schooling to help others (aka I have no idea what I want to be when I "grow up").

I have very diverse interests and consider myself a 'serial hobbyist'. I love to try and learn new things, and have tried everything from knitting to fishing to jumping out of airplanes. I love crafting and building things with my hands, and I am happiest when I am outdoors or with my nose in a book. I have recently discovered a love for travel because it allows me to be immersed in another culture for a short period of time, and gain understanding of other ways of life.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My initial interest in couch surfing was the price, to be honest. I am a college student traveling for four months in Europe, so staying somewhere expensive every weekend is not an option. Once I read more into it, however, I realized how important it is to meet locals if you are wanting to get a real feel of the culture. So, I am on CS because it is cost-effective and I get to meet some really amazing people and make new connections in unfamiliar places.

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to and love all types of music, but I especially love music from Sam Smith, Adele, John Mayer, Eric Church, Chris Stapleton, and Nathaniel Rateliff. Anything with a soul feel and a powerful, gravelly voice is my kind of jam.

I like action, adventure, and mystery movies. (I'm also a sucker for a good, cheesy rom-com occasionally)

I love to read, so I am most likely going to enjoy any book that is in my hand.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Skydiving. I have no words to explain the feeling of free falling from 17,000 feet. If you have the chance, do it!
