ABOUT ME

I am a lifelong learner. Granted, my life hasn't been very long yet, but learning has been the only thing I've been able to be passionate about. It doesn't matter what I'm learning, or how I'm learning it. I learn through reading, writing, experiencing, discussing, listening, seeing, exploring, walking, eating, dancing, everything. I love seeing people in their comfort zones, and learning through the way they live their unique lives. Maybe someday I will teach, maybe I already do, but for now I'm trying to experience each day to its full potential.

PHILOSOPHY

Alone, I can learn to master my own perspective. With others, that perspective can grow exponentially.

So far I've only been a surfer, but now that I have my own place I'd like to try being a host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

So far I've surfed around the Pacific Northwest. I've enjoyed staying in places from scenic hobby farms in the middle of nowhereville, OR to group houses of 15 people in Portland. The different ways that people choose to live are unexpectedly unique, and I have enjoyed each one for different reasons.

Books. All kinds of books...it's a bit of an obsession. I also love walking, cloudy and wet days, and campfires.

I'll read anything. I have a special place in my heart for bluegrass and hip hop. I haven't seen half as many movies as I should, and don't remember the half I have seen.

I spent many months living in a remote mountain village in the Cascade Mountains - no cell phone service, barely any internet, and the most beautiful scenery I've ever seen.

I can teach you about Minnesota, the state I am from and of which I know much too much. I can teach you about cities, and about how to appreciate natural spaces. I can teach you about a place called Holden Village. I can teach you some conversational Spanish.
