I just finished my time as an AmeriCorps VISTA member serving in New Haven, CT. Hoping to do some traveling in the near future! AmeriCorps is a national community service program, so you gotta live on the cheap. It's all about getting to know the communities that you serve . . . Couch Surfing seems like a great way to do that. I haven't done too much international travel but I would love to get back into it.

I'm all about seeing the places I'm visiting from the perspective of some one who lives there and /knows/ that place. Not to say I will immediately *get it* but it's a place to start.
