I'm a pretty quiet and unassuming person, just generally laid back. I haven't figured out exactly what I'm doing with my life, but the way things have worked out I tend to end up living in different countries and meeting people from all over the world. I'm content to keep doing things this way.
From my own experience, I can talk about life in Japan, New Zealand, Iceland, and of course the UK (I grew up in Manchester; studied in Canterbury, Kent for 3 years; and spent 6 months in Aberdeen). I enjoy hearing about new places!

New things. Anything unfamiliar.
I love studying. Right now I'm doing my masters in Medieval Scandinavian Studies, but I'm brand new to it really. My background is in social anthropology, which I love. So, culture in its broadest sense: whatever people do, the reasons they do it, the history behind it and how that heritage plays into identity...
I love language, too. It might be ridiculous to say that since I only speak the one, but I'm more interested in etymology and the way language is formed, like puzzle pieces.
I would snowboard more if I could afford it.

Musica, film e libri

I have eclectic taste.

If I had to name just a few solid favourite films, they'd be: The Fifth Element, Pan's Labyrinth, The Last of the Mohicans. The Jungle Book & The Lion King compete for the classic Disney crown.

In music, I can listen to anything really... That's a lie. Can I narrow it down to Indie & Folk? I'm a ska girl at heart, even though I don't listen to much of it any more. No Doubt's Tragic Kingdom is still probably my favourite album.

I don't read that much fiction actually, but I remember getting drawn into this Boudicca series by Manda Scott they had at the local library in Ohakune, NZ. I never finished it though.

In Japan (I was studying there) one of the teachers took us on a field trip to the area he studied, and they were having their autumn festival (matsuri) which involved people from various neighbourhoods and their respective local shrines running/dancing round the streets with danjiris (floats, I guess) and lots of street foods etc. In the day, before the activities technically started, we passed one of those shrines where they invited us in to watch the rehearsal/wear the jackets/generally have a laugh (the sake had already been flowing). It all just felt very unique.

One time, when I was wandering in Seville (Spain), I just kept getting lost but then accidentally stumbled upon the Plaza de Espana, which is a stunning "little" area; and then later again found these quirky little back streets where all the houses had planted window boxes in the alleys. It's a beautiful city and these things took me completely by surprise.
