About Me
I've just settled back down in London after spending my twenties living and working overseas as an EFL teacher. It was a great adventure, and even though I'm enjoying putting down roots in London and getting to know as much of the city as I can, I'm still keen to travel whenever I have the chance!
I love learning about different cultures, learning foreign languages, and making friends from all over the world. I'm also interested in doing more voluntary work in different countries in the future.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
My best travel experiences have always been when shown the real life of places by the locals, so I'm keen to find people who'd like to show me around their cities/countries when I have the chance to visit. It's also a great way of learning a new language too!
I'm getting to know London more and more and would enjoy showing a visitor around my new home city. I originally come from Manchester and know the north west and Yorkshire quite well so I can always recommend things to see and do there too.
I'd like to attend some Couchsurfing events in London and practise my languages.
Interests
I hope to build a career in the NGO sector and dream of starting my own social enterprise, and while I'm doing that I hope to visit as many places as I can when I have time off work. I really enjoy travel with a purpose, such as learning a language, learning dance, or volunteering. But sometimes it's nice to just lounge around a pool for a little bit too!
I speak several languages and love to exchange languages. As a former English teacher, I'm a great exchange partner for anyone who wants to improve their English. I'm also keen to learn new languages too!
My other aim for 2018 is to learn to dance well. After a long break from dancing, I'm keen to try lots of different styles to see what suits me best.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I ran an English language teaching project for refugees while I was working in Turkey. I wrote the curriculum and tests from scratch with the help of another volunteer friend, taught many of the lessons, and supported other volunteer teachers. It is the thing I'm most proud of doing.
Teach, Learn, Share
I taught English for about 8 years, so I can definitely teach that! I'd like to improve the language I'm learning, then maybe I can learn a new one. I'd also like to learn to dance - street, urban. bashment, reggaton
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can teach English! I can help coach for English language exams.
I could also teach French, Spanish or Arabic to a beginner.
