It's a very busy time of year for me, giving finals to my students and moving out of my apartment, so I can't host anyone right now! I'd love to meet new people and make friends, whether you live in the city or you're just passing through! :)

I want to do great and exciting things, then write all about them.

ABOUT ME

I'm a 23-year-old recent college graduate currently working as an ESL instructor at a university in China, and I want to make my memoir interesting (in the most positive way possible). I'm excitable and I love exploring, but most of all I love writing. I'm also a big fan of beer, but not a big partier. I'm more interested in having a casual drink while chatting about poetry (or any number of other things!) and watching the sun go down.

My future plans include seeing as much of the world as possible, writing about it, and possibly working in publishing or starting a literary journal someday.

My husband and travelling companion is Nathan Fritz (you can look him up if that's relevant to you, but I don't think he's updated his profile in a long time).

Por que estou no Couchsurfing?

I think the best way to get to know a place is to meet its people, and couchsurfing is a wonderful way to make travel personal. I'm extremely grateful for the kindness of everyone who has hosted me on my travels, and I look forward to all of the new connections I'll make in the future, through hosting and surfing alike.

Interesses

I love writing (poetry, novels, short stories, experimental stuff, personal essays, you name it), editing writing, writing some more.... I also love adventures and experiences that're out of my so-called comfort zone. I also like beer, reading the news, and fashion (though I leave that behind when I travel). I'm interested in art, though I would hardly call myself an artist. I'm a feminist and I like to question the status quo. I'm quite environmentally focused and motivated.
Mostly writing, though. I can't imagine life without it.

My current favorite books is Station Eleven by Emily St. John Mandel. My current favorite movie is The Grand Budapest Hotel. I don't really have a current favorite musical artist, but my husband wakes me up most mornings with Childish Gambino.

Uma Coisa Incrível que Eu Fiz

So far, saving for, planning, and executing a 25-day trip in Europe with my boyfriend of less than a year (at the time) on a tiny budget--it was my first time out of the country, both of our first times travelling alone, and we really pulled it off. That in itself was enriching and empowering, and instilled me with a burning desire to see the world.

I'm pretty devoid of practical skills, but I want to learn everything.

I'd be very happy to help anyone learn or practice English, and I'd be happy to practice German with anyone. I'm also particularly interested in learning Spanish and Chinese.
